More on the Rain Gardens

We have had a number of questions about the Rain Gardens.

Why do we need Rain Gardens ?

As well as looking great, Rain Gardens help to protect our lakes, streams, and rivers by capturing harmful pollutants picked up by storm water runoff from hardscape areas (patios, sidewalks, driveways), downspouts and fertilized landscapes.

What plants will be installed in the Rain Gardens ?

The plants will be installed in plug form rather than using seed. This approach maximizes the likelihood that the Rain Gardens will be healthy - the Rain Gardens will also start to provide protection from storm water runoff sooner rather than later.
